Recovery for the manufacturing sector has been as challenging abroad as it has been for the U.S. When COVID restrictions were lifted, Germany and other EU countries saw an immediate upswing in industrial activity, but that momentum slowed over the summer of 2022. Still, the European manufacturing community is resilient.

Passion for the industry was on full display at the 20th AMB International Exhibition for Metalworking, which took place at the famed Messe in Stuttgart, Germany from September 13 to 17. Master Fluid Solutions® exhibited at the event for the first time ever, joining more than 1,200 leading companies from across the globe. More than 64,000 visitors attended the five-day showcase of manufacturing automation, digitalization, and sustainability technology. According to data from the trade show, visitors and exhibitors from more than 71 countries made this event their most internationally attended exhibition to date.

A New Frontier in Europe

In 2019, Master Fluid Solutions acquired the WEDOLiT™ line of cold forming, pipe and tube, and corrosion inhibition fluids and established the new European Headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany.

“After three years, we were able to officially reintroduce ourselves to the European metalworking community,” says Dr. Martin Walter, European Managing Director for Master Fluid Solutions WDG GmbH. “AMB gave us the perfect opportunity to strengthen our connections to our distributors, customers and potential new business partners throughout Europe.”

Over the course of the trade show, the theme of sustainability took center stage at the booth. There, attendees learned about the latest developments in cutting fluid technology aimed at lessening the impact on the environment for a greener future – through reducing consumption and wastage while increasing production rates. Master Fluid Solutions showcased TRIM HyperSol™ 888NXT for the first time at a European trade show. The biobased coolant entered the European market in 2020 and established a track record of outperforming most conventional fluids, even with a plant-based formula.

Metalworking Fluid for the Era of Global Manufacturing

At the same time that Master Fluid Solutions Europe was meeting with customers and distributors at AMB, the U.S. team was fully engaged at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, marking two important milestones for the company. Master Fluid Solutions representatives had a chance to attend a trade show and connect with current and prospective customers around the world.

Though these two trade shows focused on different global markets, they both highlighted the same theme: Manufacturing is back, and Master Fluid Solutions has products to improve productivity and lower manufacturing costs for all metalworking operations.
